In Reply To: I have been reading this board for a while but had hesitated to post my own timeline. It's a lot shorter than a lot of others I've read about on this board, almost certainly because: (1) I used to work for the government (both in the military and as a civilian) (2) I currently hold a TS clearance (3) I already had a completed polygraph (not from CIA) and (4) I live in DC But still, if anyone reading this board is in a similar position, this might help assuage your fears that the process will take forever. TIMELINE 30 Jun 05 - Applied online (DI) Jul 05 - Submitted cover letter, writing samples, transcripts, etc. Late Jul/early Aug 05 -Completed online writing exercise Mid-Aug 05 - Interview 17-18 Aug 05 - Verbal COE/salary negotiations Late Aug/early Sep 05 - COE letter Mid-Oct 05 - Med/psych/poly; also site visit, met new boss Dec 05 - Informed investigation (technically re-investigation) and adjudication complete; EOD assigned In summary, I went from application to being assigned an EOD in almost exactly six months.
Message: From everything I have been able to glean on here, the large time delay comes in the adjudication of clearances. I have expired TS clearance, so I am hopeful that this will be fairly expeditious. Have fun in CAP.
