Congrats on getting your clearance.
I am a fellow applicant to the DI and in adjudication. I was wondering how many polys you took... I am on my 3rd one and was wondering if that is typical. Surferdude, all thoughts welcome. |

Thank you all for your well wishes! The good news came by phone call, which I hear is typical (supposedly they like sending letters if it??s bad news--makes sense).
For anyone curious, here is my timeline:
Early-Nov 04: Applied online
Mid-Dec 04: Asked to submit further info (transcripts, writing samples, online test, etc)
Mid-Jan 05: Regional orientation and interview with hiring manager
Mid-Feb 05: Received conditional offer
Early-May 05: Poly/Med
Late-May 05: BI finished
Early-June 05: Went into adjudication
Mid-Jan 06: Received clearance
I think that's every step of the process. From my experience, I heard back from the agency within the timelines they gave me, with the sole exception of adjudication. Initially, they told me adjudication would take 2-4 months, then they said 3-6 months, then they tried to say it could be longer. I guess the backlog right now is in adjudication, so don't fret if you think you're waiting longer than usual.
Once again, thank you all. This board is very helpful in conveying information and relieving the anxiety of this stressful application process. Good luck to everyone!
