In Reply To: From what I understand, Program Officers work in the Recruitment Center. Therefore, they will likely not know all the details about your particular job. From my experience, Program Officers are mainly there to get you scheduled and to answer general questions you may have. Once your file goes to the security department (for adjudication), however, Program Officers seem to be less helpful. Their explanation is that there is little communication between the security department and the Recruitment Center, beyond the eventual yes or no for a security clearance.
Message: Program Officers assigned to the Recruitment Center, may, in fact, be very familiar to the position you are interviewing for. Many of the employees are on assignment for a period of time from another part of the agency, including DO. OO/CMO/SOOs can be assigned to the recruitment center and I suspect it would be the same for other directorates as well.
