In Reply To: please define 'coe'. Is it certificate of elegibility or what? Is it for all jobs companywide? Maybe I am too old to bother with this nonsense. Are there jobs for older people with the company, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Also, it seems to me the guy who posted under the nameAl Malik Al Mawat would be a perfect fit, but it seems the group wants to hire some college grad teach him a foreign language, further educate him, then send him out after years of background check. By then the badguys have crashed airliners into buildings, blown up embassies, setup training camps, warred with nations, and you guys are reading the economist!!! what the heck?
Message: COE = Conditional Offer of Employment. The COE comes after the interviews and assessments and is conditional on passing suitability requirements and obtaining a security clearance. As far as jobs for older applicants, when I went in for my poly and med assessments, there were a good number of applicants who appeared to at least be in their forties, with others who appeared to be in their thirties or late-twenties. So I assume there are good opportunities for "older" applicants. And as far as young applicants like me, we're cheap, so maybe that's the reason they hire us. And with respect to The Economist question, not sure what to say about that...I like the magazine.
