In Reply To: Listen, your husband very well may be a bit paranoid about this whole process, not that it doesn't make us all a bit neurotic. Nonetheless, it shouldn't matter. After all, an investigator will eventually speak to family, neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc. In the polygraph, you will most likely have to pour your guts in order to prove that you are telling the truth (for your own sake, because any feeling of guilt for even something insignificant will show up on your readings). As a case officer, you will have to constantly be on the watch for tails. So even if you were being tailed, what difference does it make? One way or another, the security people will find out everything they want to know about your personal and professional life, so unless you have something to hide, who the hell cares if some dudes followed you to the movies? Unless you think your husband and you are actually being stalked, don??t worry about it. Please tell me you discussed this career choice thoroughly with your husband before you applied, because from what you posted, he seems to be a bit antsy, and that could put a strain on your relationship unless he can keep a level head and not tell anyone who you work for.
Message: I think it makes all the difference in the world whether or not they follow you around town during the security clearance process. It's completely illegal for them to do so. I haven't signed anything giving them the authority to do so.
