Yes I've read that article 2 or 3 times. Quite honestly, I've read everything on the net there is to read about the CIA.
At this point, I don't even care that the CIA denied me. I just don't want to think I'm screwed for life at other places because of it.

Don't think you're doomed with other agencies. First, each agency conducts their own background investigations. They may inquire/share information about a candidate with other agencies and even if they do, just because one denies you doesn't mean another will. Each agency has different levels and concerns regarding clearances. The one you applied for happens to be one of the more sensitive ones. To give you an example, I also received a rescinded COE, and now work in another government agency with a very high/critical clearance.
