Hi,
I have been working at a financial software/data firm for the past 3+years as a Database Manager. Basically, I am responsible for data integrity and content for fundamental databases. My job is to ensure the integrity of our fundamental databases via quality control testing and research suspicious data values.
My concern is that I am not quite sure how my skills and qualifications would translate into a position at a non financial data firm.
I dont want to get pidgeon-holed doing this type of work.
My current job is not your typical job (trader, sales) and it takes people a while to understand what I do.
I do not have an MBA and am just wondering what positions may be suitable for someone with my experience. m
Does anyone have any advice as to what other positions someone with my qualificationa and background.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Dear mjm:
Big co's in any industry have mountains of data. If you want to switch, what they'll want to hear is what you can do for them. What makes you different, accomplished? What ideas you have for improving their database & how they make use of it, etc.
Best wishes,
Jane
