It is difficult but you have to look out for yourself. Tell your boss that you have found a position that lines up with your long term goals better then your current position. Give 2 weeks and give suggestions on how you will transition your work to someone else.
Just stay calm and focus on how your new job will help your future. They might try and negotiate with you so be prepared.

Be sure to give them lots of strokes like "great people... gonna miss you all so much..." Make it clear up front that it's not about $$ (to avoid the "negotiation" possibility). AND you must make an effort to keep in touch with those folks (if you truly don't want to burn bridges). Why would you if they are great people? They are part of your networking group.
