Thanks for the feedback. I met with one of them today and they quoted me a fee of almost $11K, paid in full up front. It seems like an awful lot of $$ for some very vague assurances as to what they can actually deliver, and I have yet to meet or hear from anyone who has actually used them.

There is absolutely no reason to pay that kind of $$. I re-read your first post: You can't expect headhunters to help you with a career change. They just want a resume that tells them what you've done & how you fit into openings they need to fill. If you're uncertain about what to change to, you should consider working with a career coach. That will cost you around $200-250 a month. You can pay more, but you don't have to...
