I think you are making a mistake when you assume that I can't get what I want unless I step on a lot of people.
I'm a believer in win/win situations. It's worked for me so far. Not only that, but I also believe that you have to take care of yourself first before you can truly take of anybody else. Even the Buddha recognized this - that is why he gave up the yogic traditions.
And Kipling was rich and famous because he sold a lot of writings.

To me, you distort Buddhism in saying that. He meant in the spiritual, emotional and physial sense, not the material. Or isn't htat correct? you'll probably disagree.
And, you are wrong when you asume that I am assuming you step on people. I interpret the words that are written. You seem kinda defensive.
And I guess I stand corrected on Kipling. Don't really care as it's a very minor issue I can cede, compared to the above.
