New to the board...currently an IT manager, 28, 1998 MBA (third tier school), mother of two. Want to make a transition towards the business side such as management consulting or financial services...do any opportunities exist that would put me on that path without totally sacrificing time with the kids ? I can travel up to 20 %. I've read many good ratings in terms of family from the major financial institutions and even consulting firms, am I naive ? I am considering applying for another MBA from a top tier school, and looking for tech mgmt positions that are not purely tech, such as doing financial package implementations in the meantime. What would you consider a good next move ?

Hi Sterli!
Well, I have already offered this degree to other member of Vaul chat.
I'd recommend Ms in Financial Engineering, instead of getting one more MBA.....
Since you're in IT, I think this Ms degree will help your career. Plus you can hit this degree in a really decent school like Berkely or Carnegie Mellon.
As for me, I plan to hit my first MBA in top three business schools.
:)
