What about SAP? |

I have almost 10 years of accounting experience. I have a BA in Accounting and I am a CPA.
In those 10 years I implemented JDE World GL and AP and worked on an implementation of Peoplesoft. I have always been the technical guru in the accounting groups I have worked.
I would like to try my hand at being an Oracle DBA. How should I go about making this career change? Should I get certified first?
Any information and advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

There seems to be a pretty good demand for SAP functional specialists (non-IT) and developers (IT). This may be an easier transition for someone with an a/c background, ie a/c ---> SAP functional ---> SAP developer. From there Oracle could be your next step. Otherwise get Oracle certified first.
