Currently, I am looking to obtain an equity research associate position at a financial services firm, I'm not particular about whether it be bulge-bracket or a research boutique. But, I'm having great difficulty transferring into this line of work with my background. I have an MBA from a second tier school and a Bachelor's degree from a top-tier school, both with high grade point averages. I worked in an FP&A role at a Big 5 accounting firm and as a credit analyst at a small commercial bank. In the upcoming year, I plan to begin pursuing the CFA designation and I'm trying to network with alumni of my respective schools. I was hoping to hear from people with positive, constructive advice on breaking into this field. If you have a negative reply (i.e. thats impossible, etc...), don't waste my time or yours. |

Thanks for your advice, I was actually hoping that the expert would reply quickly, because I saw some replies to other posts on this board. Anyway, I went to Boston College undergrad and Hofstra University for my MBA....
