i'm departing for b-school (thunderbird) this fall after working for an international non-profit in a junior management position. i have a BA in international and african studies and solid foreign language skills (french, german, spanish). i'm planning on having a finance focus while at school.
what i'm wondering is how difficult it will be to find an internship in banking. my academic record is strong, and i interview very well and can relate my international exposure (lived in africa for 9mo., spain 2mo., germany 10mo.) to developed skills. ideally i'd like to focus on emerging markets, but will take the best opportunity available. will banks see my diverse background as more of a liability or as an asset? are there any banks to which i would have more appeal than others?
