Ops Mgt to Financial analyst - Education vs. experience? |

I'm wrapping up a part-time MBA this summer, and exploring my options.
I have about nine years of operations management experience, most recently as a quality manager. I do a lot of internal analysis on quality and productivity metrics, and I work with our finance group to create our monthly quality/productivity reporting packages.
I'm interested in a more finance oriented analyst role, such as a financial or business analyst for internal profit and/or cost centers of a large company.
Most of the postings for these types of positions usually require 2 to 5 years of finance experience. I have the operations and analysis side covered, but I don't have direct experience working in a finance dept.
Does the MBA offset this lack of experience? Obviously, I have done a lot of work running DCF models, sensitivity analyses and capital budeting in my finance courses.
I know most of the positions only require a bachelors. I also realize I'm switching careers and I'm willing to start out at this level. What are my chances?
