Hi
I am a design engineer with a very well positioned High Tech Company. I have been with them since i graduated with a Masters of Science in Electrical Engg in Dec 1999. I have a good 2.5 years experience in engineering after my MS and am looking to grow out of engineering into a job that involves more decision making and responsiblities. I know an MBA is a good choice but I want to get a good experience in Business and management within the next 2-3 years to support my MBA application. Being an engineer at this point and having a very technical job I don't know where I can start looking for getting this experience.
Please help me by suggesting some choices i have in this regard.

Your current employer sounds like your best bet. Who can you talk to there to start working your way into those kinds of duties? Finding a mentor would be a great move, too. Who's doing what you'd like to do & would s/he be willing to give you some guidance? You might also post your question on the Vault MBA msg board.
