In Reply To: I am a pharmacist for the last 14 years. I never really liked my job and think of taking courses for a BS in health care administration. Has anybody any ideas regarding this change? I am just sick of the contact with patients and want an administrative job. I read somewhere on the board somebody would prefer to work with people than with numbers. For me it's exactly the opposite. I am just burned out. Could my choice be worse than my present job? All responses would be greatly appreciated. D.S.
Message: Dear admin: If you're burned out, then you should investigate alternatives! Remember, though, that any admin job will involve supervising people. They won't be called "patients" anymore, but you will have to deal with their problems - in various forms. Before you leap into the idea, talk with people who are already doing the job that you have in mind for yourself - do informational interviews & find out how much time you might be spending on "people problems" & what that's like. Best of luck, Jane
