Hi,
I am a Mechanical Er. and have been working in a flourmill for the past 3 years as a miller. I just hate this job because: (1)I see no long term opportunity to strick it big and (2)I just hate my working environment.
I am more interested in Industrial Psychology/Project Management/Consulting etc. where I can have the opportunity of taking up a new challenge once in a while. I love meeting people. How can I change over from Flour milling to my desired fields? How do I go about acquiring the tools needed for the change over? I am tied up due to certain responsibilities and so cant spend big for the time being. Please advice. |

Dear Genisian,
You'll need education, but first you have to figure out what you want to do. Check local colleges/nonprofits for low-cost career counseling services in your area. Some testing & talking will help you determine what your strengths are & then go from there. Once you have a specific goal in mind that looks wonderful & exciting, I'll bet you'll find the resources to get yourself there.
Regards,
Jane
