Hi Jane,
I have a background as a chemical engineer, and used to design, build and commission control system software solutions for very large factories in Europe and the Middle East.
I then moved into Telecom and developed and tested software products for the mobile telecom market.
I'd like to work for a strat consulting/management consulting company in the Netherlands, and am studying towards an EMBA at the Rotterdam School of Management. How do I leverage my skills to get into such a firm?
Thanks in advance,

Dear arun,
I don't know if you can accomplish that quickly. If you need to get out of current job now, sounds like you may have to take an interim job while you're working toward the real goal.
On the real goal: you've apparently identified the co. you want to work for. Are you networking in that field? Are you telling everyone you meet what you want & asking for their help? You need to develop contacts at that co. ID people there & ask for an "informational" interview. Ask for 20 min. of their time to ask questions like how they got started in consulting, anything they wish they'd done differently & what you need to do to get into a co. like theirs. Make it general or they'll think you're asking for a job -- which you are, of course, but don't make it that obvious. Do your research on this co. beforehand so you can ask smart questions.
Best wishes,
Jane
