I am currently on Active Duty assigned to the SC Army National Guard and I am considering getting out an pursuing a civilian career. I have 10 yrs of Active Duty and over 15 yrs total time in service including my reserve time. I have a BS Degree in Business from Coker College in Hartsville, SC and I would like to use my degree before I get too old. I have served in several different capacities to include, Recruiter, Training NCO, Readiness NCO (Armory Manager) and Platoon Sergeant. I would welcome any advise anyone would be willing to share. That you want to throw away all that time spent working toward retirement and start all over again? Can you get reassigned to NGB at the Pentagon or something else more interesting instead? You need to analyze the source of your dissatisfaction and resolve it within your present retirement system, rather than throwing it all away.
