In Reply To: i've been in marketing communications for almost 15 years and i can't bear to even think about getting another job in that industry. i'm currently unemployed. just turned 40. have an mba. i want to break into the cable television industry - and i'm willing to do just about ANYTHING (meaning - yes, i'll be a secretary) to get my foot in the door. but how do i get past their reservations about being "overqualified"??? won't they think i'll just quit as soon as something better comes along?
Message: I was in the medical field (billing)and decided to go back to school. I earned a BBA in accounting and a Masters in Taxation. Can you imagine how it feels to be a Tax Accountant and not have a job at tax time. I have started applying for billing positions or staff accounting positions. I too am 40, and I wonder if there might be some age discrimination going on. I'm sure I will never know. At any rate, I understand your position.
