As far as getting fired, it wouldn't hurt my resume much. Companies hire and fire on a whim, so being fired doesn't carry the stigmatizim it did ten years ago.
As far as my personality goes, it has been a problem in the past for being too "direct and task oriented." This has been a problem for me in traditional companies, but in other environments it has been an asset.
Anyway, I think it's the boss's problem. If you don't meet with your employee on a regular basis and take an active role in communicating as well, then you shouldn't critize. It takes two to tango!!! |

Maybe you should try reading this book, How to Win Friends and Influence People. It's about the art of negotiation and having people see things your way. This might be helpful for this job, or even future positions.
