Any Travel Writers Out There? |

I am going through a major career change. I just left my Sales in Hi-Tek job.
Now I am going for the gust. One of the things that I like most is Travel and other cultures. I have done extensive traveling, just complete a 9 mos trip.
One thing that appeals to me is to become a researcher for Travel Guide Publication or any other type of media.
I am willing to start at the bottom and do work from a desktop, either from a virtual office or a real one and later earn the right to travel while doing research.
In addition, Photography is my vocation and have done lots of it while traveling. I have sold some but have not done much with it. I feel that my work has so merit.
I have been suggested to try to become a "Travel Writer", except I am no writer.
So the question that I have is where do I go to inquiry about this type of job and what type of experience do they required,othern than having done extensive travel.

Since you say that you are not a writer, it would seem that doing research or photography are your options. Unless you want to take some writing classes..? Why don't you get some travel mags & contact some authors who are writing for them? Ask if there would be jobs for someone who just does research (and what it would pay). Good luck.
