Message: I worked as an industrial sales rep for a smaller, privately held firm for 10 years. It was my first job out of college. Feeling unchallenged, I decided to make a move into medical/pharm sales. I obtained a position with a medical device company and enjoyed working the hospitals. I worked there for a year. During this time, my original company was acquired by a huge conglomerate. They tracked me down and lured me back with a huge increase in base and my 10 years seniority. I took the bait and went back. After 6 months, I realized again why I left and decided to get back into medical/pharm sales. I left the device company on good terms, and they asked if I would come back as a sales manager. I also had an offer from a big pharm company to come on board as a hospital rep. I reluctantly turned it down as I felt obligated to the device company as they basically created this position for me. I've been back for a month and really regret not taking the pharm position. The $ was better and so were the benefits. Am I a job hopper if I try to land a better job? I've technically only worked for 2 companies in 11 years and it's obvious that I do a good job and don't burn bridges. Any input as to how long I need to stay before I can look again? I have an MBA and feel very underpaid. What is $ potential in pharm vs.devices?
