This is unique! I worked as an industrial sales rep for a small, private company, for 10 years. This was my first job out of college. I did very well but looked for a new challenge as a sales rep for a medical device company. I worked for the med. device company for 1 year. During this time, my first company was acquired by a huge conglomerate which lured me back with a 30% base increase and my 10 years seniority. I took the bait and found that I was not happy after 6 months and began looking for a career back in medical/pharm sales. I kept a good relationship with the med. device company and was hired back as a sales manager. I passed up a specialty position with a big pharm company because I felt obligated to the device company for creating the new position for me. Bottom line: I regret passing up the big pharm position which paid more, not very happy now as pay is relatively low for the amount of hours and my job duties. Should I continue to search or stay for a few years, the pay is really substandard, as I have an MBA.
