Message: I am undergraduate in Electronics(not from US) but not doing work..being laid off.I am 33yr and soon going to be married.I was deeply inerested in computer field so i did some courses and moved into this area. Now i feel that this is a highly volatile area with no stability.I am confused about what should be the ultimate destination of a programmer?i am interested in doing high class research work too but cooperate environmrnt never allows you to do so.Further ,joining graduate school needs lot of money.I have also lost contect with my professors and employers i worked with are not cooperative ,so how to get good recomendation letter?Since i have worked for 1 yrs in software industry, i am finding difficulty in getting the job and also not have much confidence too. After doing undergraduate , i spent almost 10yrs now in searching what best for me..is it still possible for me to have good career or my life would be spoilt like this(which i never want to).My strengths are if i decided about a thing i will get it and persistence. How should i tackle the career planning issue .Its really taking its toll on my health as i find so much stress on myself...pl help
