I have been working in ibanking/valuation for several years at a couple of good companies. I am currently a 3rd year associate, and am sick of the long hours and chained-to-my-desk feeling. However, I do enjoy the M&A and valuation work that I've been doing over the years.
I want to change jobs, but not go into another 70-80 hour a week job. I'd like to keep hours at 60 or less if possible. I realize that I'll have to take a pay cut, but to tell you the truth, the money I make now doesn't compensate me for the migraine headaches, cancelled dates, and endless working weekends. Any suggestions for a new career?
