Thanks a lot for the advice, good to see this thread still sees a little action. To anyone curious (nobody) I am actually giving my two weeks notice tomorrow...and going out after work and partying my face off! I think it would be much easier having 6 hours a day to try and find a job; and from home, not surrounded by coworkers no less. This job honestly affects my overall wellbeing, it has made me a somewhat unhappy kid unfortunately. Quitting is the right thing. Also, I'll easily be able to use this story to my advantage in future interviews. And luckily, I've got some money saved for a rainy day. I could last the summer without finding a job, though I'll rpobably bartend at nights for some dough. Thanks a lot, I hope my breif story can help out some others. |

I'll trade you my investment banking job (soon to be eliminated) for your dumb tech job any day.
Personally, I'd stick with it until I found something better.
You said you want to get into the financial business? This is a really down market to find something in banking, so think about this before you chuck it all. Good luck!
