How do I market myself? |

I have a B.A. in English and upon graduation, I thought that I wanted to go to Graduate School to get my M.A.E. and teach. However, I needed money so I decided to take a job with a Fortune 500 Telecommunications Company. I worked there for 5 years in various positions such as customer service, technical support for their billing system, end user training on said billing system and finally as a marketing specialist that concentrated on updating their Intranet Site content. Now, I am working at another Telecommunications Giant doing glorified customer service/project management. The work is mindless. My problem is that I feel like all creativity that I once had has been sucked out of me due to working for these huge corporations where the sheer day to day boredom wears me down. I would like to get into a field where I can use my brain and be creative. I don't want to be bored or lazy and currently I do as little as humanly possible to keep my job and get paid but find no fulfillment or enjoyment in it. My quandry is that I have no idea what I ultimately want to do as I cannot afford to pursue my orignal idea of going back to get my M.A.E. (I'm now a single mom) and I don't know if this would be a good job for me anyway. I am overwhelmed by my dislike of working for huge corporate giants where employees are treated like robots and office politics are a way of life yet I'm afraid that any other job I get will leave me feeling the same way. I need the same level of pay/benefits/401k that come with working for companies like this. Perhaps I'm just shell-shocked? Any advice?
