Topic Name: Switch to consulting without MBA
Message Name: Very Doable
Date Posted: 04/20/2001
In Reply To: Hello. I am hoping to move from an internet company (3.5 years experience) to a management/strategy consulting firm. Do you think it's possible to get in without an MBA? Should I expect to start at the college grad level or something higher?
Message: I am currently employed with a big-five management/strategy consulting firm, and I have a background in political theory and policy analysis. You can get your foot in the door and expect to start at a level higher than the college grad level. Your work experience is a valuable commodity and should elevate you above any entry-level position. Just do it!
