I heard all this stuff about Accenture people having to work really long hours - 6 day weeks - long periods away from home etc. I heard that this does not apply to people with families etc. Only new anaylists.
I have heard that they want to retain people and offering balanced lifestyles is a great way to do this. Is this true? (I am thinking of applying) |

There are no 6 day work weeks. If your flying it is Monday through Thursday, you spend four nights at home.
Analyst are more subjected to the traveling schedules only because they don't have many skills or networks to help with there staffing in the beginning. There is sort of a paying dues period. Even still, the smart analyst will set expectations early.
You don't have to have a family in order to have work/life balance. If there is something that is important to you and you make it known in advance, people work with you. They have just started 360 feedback for everyone up to Partner. And inflexibility on the part of the executive is highly fround upon.
Just like anything, it is what you make of it. If you show you are willing to work until 10pm every night, you will work until 10pm. The key at any job is setting expectations.
