Career change into consulting |

I currently work in the mortgage industry but I have been looking into going into consulting. How difficult would such a transition be? I work in the Tv/Film business for 10 yrs and have only been in the mortgage business for 1 yr but would like to pursue some kind of real estate consulting work. Should I be trying to first get in the door with my entertainment experience and then move into another specialty such as real estate? How does it work?
