I have been working in GE for almost 4 years now in strategic and tactical marketing roles. It's been in the financial services industry but I got my Masters in Advertising Management with several courses in media. I interned in a couple of agencies prior to my full-time job. Now I am looking to get into actual media - broadcating, print or online, doing marketing. I am finding it very tough to convince hiring managers that I have transferable skills. They keep looking for agency experience or media experience.
Any ideas? I don't want to go back for an MBA now.
