Hello everybody. I need some help. I'm 21 years old and am working at a job I'm not happy with. Since graduating high school I have amassed lots of debt and have nothing to show for it. I have been wanting to find a line of work to switch to that offers better pay and that doesn't take a lot of time to get into, not as a permanent career, but rather as something to get the bills paid off so that I can afford to finish college later on down the road. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

I have two friend who work for DHL and they say their company is always looking for 'casual drivers'. They pay around $18 to start, with potential for quite a bit of overtime. Had I not just completed my MBA, I would probably have done it. You need to get a CDL license which I believe costs about $150. The test is in 2 or 3 parts: written and driving & demonstrating how to inspect your vehicle for safety. Your local BMV will have application and instruction booklets. For your actual driving test, you can rent a truck (U-Haul, etc.)
Also, UPS hires a lot of college students part-time. You might want to explore that option as well.
