Thank you greatly for the advice. in fact i had a talk with him and told him that it wasnt working for me. he asked what was different about engineering and this job. i told him and he said anything else i wanted to do just to let him know. there really isnt anything else for me. i miss my engineering work and i told him this. he then said there were "things" down the road that i could get involved in (outside of this company). Basically, i was given a pep talk and that was that. As i sit here, i feel totally unfullfilled and more lost. I miss my old job more and more even though there were problems with it too. i just hope i can resolve this before i lose it! |

Dear ploch,
So how about revisiting the "things" with him and ask just what he has in mind? Sounds like he really wants you to stay. You make a good point: with just about any job there will be parts you don't like. It's hard to think creatively when you're focused on what you don't like. Maybe he has some ideas that will spark creative thinking for you.
