In Reply To: good day everyone :) I current work as an administrative assistant but really want to pursue a paralegal career. I don't care much for my current job but it pays the bills... well, except for my 20k in debt. I'm worried that if I were to quit this job to pursue being a paralegal, that I could take a huge pay cut and land even more in debt. What should I do? Sacrifice my happiness and stick it out at my current job, or take a huge risk and more financial instability but pursue my dream job? Thanks for your help!! Sabrina
Message: Check for schools offering paralegal certification programs that you can attend parttime. This would be anywhere from 6 - 18 months depending on the school. Sign up with a placement agency that places paralegals in permanent positions. Knowledge of Lexis Nexis or Westlaw is key as well. Consolidate debt and work with a credit counseling agency that charges little or no fees. Good Luck!
