I'm currently employed at a major technology consulting firm (have been for 4 years), which I dislike, and have been planning a job change to accounting for the past 2 years. I am currently an A/R drone, but don't have any general ledger or GAAP experience do to the evil big ERP systems that don't let you see their backend. I am just finishing up my (part-time) Bachelors in Accounting this spring (my second degree, low GPA prevented going directly to Masters). I am planning to leave the work world to get my Masters of Accountancy (or whatever the school I get into calls it) in a year and a half and hope to move up to the big four after that point.
My questions are:
1 - Should I try and take the CPA exam now or wait until after I get my Master's? (I'm a really good test taker).
2 - Should I even try to get a job in Accounting now, and how considering I don't have the buzzwords everyone looks for?
3 - Any suggestions for going about this job search, considering I will be leaving shortly after receiving a position?

Dear services,
Probably best to post your questions on vault's Accounting Msg Board.
