In Reply To: I noticed there doesn't seem to be a "consulting" message board, but if you are interested in consulting check out the mckinsey board or other company-specific boards because I've always heard that mckinsey loves doctors, but again, it depends if consulting is actually what you want to do (it takes a certain type of mind for the thinking, at least in performing on the interview). Of the areas I mentioned previously, the two easiest to break into for you would likely be equity research or consulting. By the way, what are you doing your residency in and what schools did you go to (or just the general ranking/tier)? because undergrad at least seems to carry a lot of weight in most of these areas. I'm curious to know what you find out. keep me posted.
Message: thanks again for the tips. i went to a decent, but small liberal arts college in the northeast for undergrad. went to state university for a masters and med school. i am about to finish a radiology residency. i will keep you posted with what i find out in the next few months. good luck with your career in medicine. it can obviously be very rewarding and challenging.
