Hi..
I am contemplating a shift into top tier strategy consulting from my job in Capital One(for the last 18 months) as a senior analyst.
I have a bachelors in engineering from a top school in India and an MBA (good grades.. among top 10% of batch) from IIM A (probably the best B-school in india).I was picked up directly from campus by capital One and have been here since. My work here so far has involved designing strategies to improve the profitability of an underperforming portfolio of loans. The other key piece of work has been testing of a key business concept for the company.
With that background I am looking for advice around-
1. What is the best way to apply..
2. Will these firms sponsor my green card etc. (Capital one has but if I wait for the process to get over- it will take 2 years, I might end up being labeled a Fin serv guy with limited ability to move into strat consult..
3. Is my experience at capone a plus or a minus or is it irrelevant. Does a longer stay at the company hurt my chances of moving
4. In order to boost my candidature what are some things that I should be working on..
Any help/advice on one or more of these questions shall be greatly appreciated
