Unfortunately, many people who are not slotted into an 'urgent need' position (DAs are always in urgent need, imho) can be in limbo for weeks. I'd say check in once a week with your recruiter. They likely won't get in touch with you unless they actually have something to get you into asap, so it'll be frustrating at times. Some recruiters are a bit better than others at keepping you updated, though.

I suspect there is a reason they always have an urgent need for DAs. Is there a lot of churn in DAs?
And is it because they take highly intelligent people and make them do really routine stuff (as a DA?)
How shoudl I handle it if there is a competing offer? Would that convince them to move forward faster?
