I went through the process and was initially told that I had been selected for the BA role by my recruiter.
She is now urging me to meet with the hiring manager for a DA role (even though there are BA roles available & I fit them).
The reason is that the DA role is the most urgent opening.
What are my options? I am interested in only the BA role and want to be fit into the right role. I have strong communication skills and leadership experience. (I don't have any data analysis background)
My plan is to meet with the hiring manager for the DA role (to satisfy my recruiter), but to tell them both that if there are BA roles available, I would like to have the opportunity to meet with the hiring managers for those roles.
Would that be okay? |

In very bad words: T7 DA is about 1-3 years behind a T7 BA. The difference becomes prominent when you later want to consider BA roles in the most sought after teams (Credit policy)
There is definitely some level of difficulty to go from DA to BA as opposed to OA to BA (which are almost same)
