In Reply To: I attended a power day recently and was given an offer over the phone. I have interviewed at other places and waiting for their responses. If I dont get an offer from elsewhere, I am going to take the one from C1. But the other people will get back to me in about 9-10 business days. So...... 1) How can I prolong my C1 offer timeframe? Is it possible? Suppose my C1 recruiter is not ready to wait that long, can I postpone my offer citing some personal reasons for not taking it while not burning any bridges? And... 2) If I take a risk and dont take the C1 offer now, dont hear from the other companies and want to work/apply for a similar position in C1 say about 2 months down the road, will I have to go through the whole interview process again? I also realize that it would be unethical of me to take the C1 offer and ditch them if I hear from the other companies. Really confused and need some advice. Thanks Jim
Message: Hey Jim You shouldn't have a problem putting off your decision. First say you're waiting for the hard copy to make sure that you have looked over the details. I can't imagine we would force you to respond in less than two weeks. You should say you're still interviewing with some other places and you want to have all the information in front of you before you make your decision. We understand that you have other options available to you (we hope you do!) and would you want to work for a company that didn't respect that? If you do decline the offer and try and come back in a few months you're probably rolling the dice. I've heard this go both ways. I don't find the C1 process is as complicated as you are making it to be. C1 isn't an ultra-competitive I-bank and the recruiting process reflects that. Hope this helps. Tito
