Hello Everyone,
I am in a dilemma even after getting an offer from Capital one. Here's my situation. Someone pls advice me.
Currently, I am on OPT which is expiring in Aug'06. That means I can only apply for H1B in the next years quota that is opeing in April'06 bcos last year's qouta of H1Bs is already over. For these H1B, the starting date is 1st Oct'06. But my OPT is expiring in Aug'06. That means I can't legally work from Aug'06 to Oct'06 but can legally stay in the country.
My question is:
Does Capitalone still hires for entry level DA position, even if there's a gap between the expiration date of OPT and starting date of H1B. I mean, I wont be able to work from Aug to Oct.
And if they decide againt it for now. Do I have to go through the complete hiring process again later or will they hire me based on my current performance.
Pls advice.
Thanks in advance.

Hi AB_GATOR, I've been in your position (I'm on an H1B too).
I know it is difficult. I would recommend discussing this frankly with HR to make sure that they understand the legal ramifications and can plan for you to take unpaid time off for the 2 months of August & September
(You can work from the 1st of October onwards)
This is a good company that supports immigration & I'm sure they'll make an adjustment for you.
But please do disclose adn talk this through. Don't risk doing anything illegal.
