In Reply To: First question: Do they actually know the scores on teh quantitative test or is it just a pass/ test level? I'm asking because I know I did very well on the quantitative test (finished all questions, accurately (I think) with time to spare) so I'm wondering if I'd get brownie points for something like that. Or would it not matter as long as you just cleared a cut-off? (e.g. if I got a 38 out of 40 and someone else got a 25 out of 40 and if 25 were the cut-off..would I be rated better than the candidate who got a 25 or would we both be considered equal? Another question: I was trying for a certain role & they offered me another one. Unfortunately I had to turn it down because it wasn't the exact role I was looking for. Does it preclude me from applying for other roles within Capital One? Thanks
Message: I think they know the scores because my recruiter told me that my scores were like fantastic above par.....and i think you dont get brownie points but its just one of the many tools to assess you. It creates a good impression if you can maintain it in the interviews. But honestly I screwed up the interviews. So just to let you know the interview counts way more than the quantitative tests because the company gets a chance to really assess you very carefully rather than a machine asessing you. So just to make my point clear if you can maintain the same level in the interview then i could say that the tests did you get you some brownie points! Usually the interviewer already has a good impression based on test scores so if you maintain that thats good for you!.... As for other roles, you can ask your recruiter directly. After the interviews they would determine where they think you fit. If they think you did not fit the role you wanted then you might have to wait for 6 months before you can interview again and convince the interviewers that you fit the role you want! Basically during the interviews they determine your skill set and decide which role you would fit into! Eg. if you want to be a product manager but during the interview you show poor communication skills but above par analytical skills then I really think they would only want you as an analyst & vice versa! hope this helps!
