Hi,
I have recently received an offer from Technology Services division of Capgemini based out of Cupertino.During the discussions,I was informed that travel involved would be minimal and local.Could someone give me a realistic picture regarding this. This is really important for me to decide due to certain personal obligations.
Thanks for all your help. |

What the rule means is that consultants are going to be 3 nights away from home (which may be local or a plane ride away), 4 days in the client site and spend the fifth day in the home office. That means it can be either M-Th in client site with F home or T-F at the site with M home. I believe this is the format they're trying to push to have a better work/life balance for employees. In my upcoming project, this is how I'll be staffed. I'll be in site from M-Th flying home Th night.
Also, last year they're changing their business unit to a regional unit. That means given your local office location, they'll strive to staff you on projects located in the West region (CA, WA, AZ for example), which should reduce the distance travelled (if not the amount of travel)
Anyway, congrats on the offer.
