In Reply To: Hi, I have an upcoming interview at Capgemini, but after reading these boards, a potential new employee can't help but shiver before considering working at here. I am applying as an entry-level consultant in the Strategy Research Group, can anyone provide insight into this dept. and the role? Not coming from an Ivy League school, getting a job at Bain or other top-tier firm (BCG, McKinsey, etc) is a long shot. How the strategy/management consulting at Cap, and what are your thoughts on this position as a first job. I really don't want to get into IT consulting, but was under the impression this position wouldn't be like that. Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated. It would seem the company is going to implode at any moment from reading these boards, but a few dozen out of 60k employees might not mean to much. It is just hard to gauge as an outsider. Thanks very much. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Any word on starting salaries for this position?
Message: Hi - Cap is great for a first job. You will get the opportunity to work for a number of clients doing all sorts of things and will learn systems, processes, and methods that can only benefit you down the road in your career. I have really loved it - even though Cap has had it's troubles, I've been promoted twice in the past 5 years and have doubled my salary. As a staff consultant, you can expect a salary of 50K - 65K.
