In Reply To: NYC-Native: Others have previously questioned the lack of posts on this board from Campbell consultants. More and more, I find myself agreeing with them that this is a very troubling sign. In the recent Campbell Alliance thread on the main consulting board, the majority of the posts (other than yours) were negative. Here in this forum you have a chance to address applicant concerns and let us know why Campbell is a great place to work. But instead of hearing from people working in the same role that we would be in, we hear from a PR person. And not even useful information. You have given no specifics about working environment, hours, or salary ranges. Despite saying that you would answer questions about Campbell Alliance, you have been dodging all the meaningful questions that this board is meant to answer. I find it troubling that no consultants have posted any messages or filled out any surveys. Is this because they are all so apathetic about Campbell Alliance that they don't care? Or is it because the company won't allow them to post here for fear that they will say something negative? And since these postings and surveys are anonymous, there is very little chance that they would be discovered. Are they so scared (for their jobs?) that they refuse to take even the tiny risk that they might be discovered? Whatever the reason, I find it troubling. I am also very turned off by your portrayal of the firm. Every company has positives and negatives. However you are presenting a rosy view, of the company and expect us to believe it. Why would we? We are smart enough to be consultants, certainly we are smart enough to know that the view that you put forth is not an accurate one. Wouldn't you rather that we have all the information about the company to help us determine if we want to work there? Won't that work out better for all of us in the long run? I was preparing to apply to Campbell Alliance, and would have been a good candidate. However, the company's handling of the Vault message board and surveys has been a real turnoff. I now have doubts that I would ever want to work for your company.
Message: JoJo - I think you're being a bit unreasonable. The Vault only granted us this message board about a month ago. Let it catch on a bit here at Campbell. Honestly, our consultants are busy and posting on message boards is certainly not top of mind for them. Most of the posts I've seen on other company boards are either by people looking for work or by people complaining about past employers. Everyone else seems to be... hard at work :) Regarding my posts, I think I've been very forthcoming. I'm not posting just random information about how "great" it is here at Campbell. I think I've been generally helpful to those people with genuine questions. Someone asked about our new Boston office, question answered. Another asked about our benefits for working mothers, again question answered (although for some reason she didn't like the answer). I don't think I've presented a rosy view of the firm, I've just answered people's questions. There's no propaganda on this website. Again, I'm just answering people's questions. As I've said in past postings on the ZS board before we received our own board... it's really challenging to work at Campbell. We work long hours. There's a lot of travel involved as client work demands it, but most of our practice areas set up teams that divide the country into East and West, so they try to limit travel to a consultant's locale as much as possible. We??re getting more and more capable of doing that with two new offices established last year (NYC & SF) and two more being established this year (Boston & Chicago). I can't comment on salary because I'm not a consultant (although I used to be one in a prior life), but we have great benefits and we (I think all of us) have bonus and raise potential twice per year. While we all work hard, everyone I??ve spoke to on the practice teams is having fun. They??re working on challenging projects with top companies and genuinely moving the needle for everyone we work with. JoJo - I apologize if you??ve been turned off, but I think you??re making a mistake to judge a company based on a message board. There??s nothing more I can say. For people who post questions here, I??m happy to answer them. If you??re looking for consultants they??ll come around on their own. JoJo - so, where do you work? Or are you a recent graduate?
