In Reply To: You won't get any professional development if you are part of the support staff. All time and money is poured into the consultants development. I have a friend who worked in the NY office and heard things were bad for support staff.
Message: If you are looking for a career track, BCG admin is not for you. BCG does pay for most courses if you are interested in developing your skills outside of work. They also offer some computer training inhouse. I agree with the previous posting that all time and money is poured into the consulting staff. The only way to maybe get a promotion at BCG admin is that someone leaves or a new position is created. This is quite rare. There has not been a great deal of hiring of admin staff in our office, certainly not of presentation specialists. The consulting staff has to do most of their own presentations and a good chunk of it is sent to India. Pay, benefits and working environment is ok, but my friends in other consulting companies such as Kearney and Deloitte earn better money.
