i am with the competition but feel your plight. key questions here:
1. did bah seek u out or did u go to them?
2. what company r u with now? do u hate it or like it?
3. 60k for 2 yrs exp (no masters, right?) is not bad. if u graduated in 2004 it's not even 2 yrs yet, right? i would also discount that 4 yrs thru college". dont trick yourself into thinking you have 6 yrs total. HR will see right thru that.
4. 5-10k more in SALARY is a big deal. bah will see this as 5-10k more EVERY year + 10% more in ecap EVERY year + a few hundred more in EVERY pay raise hereafter.
5. any security clearance?
6. what location r u referring to?
go for what you think u deserve and good luck! |

Thanks for the reply unc_04, the answers to your questions are below:
1)I was referred by a consultant on board.
2) I am with a non-profit but AM lookn to get out.
3) i agree but I do have a solid 2 years of post-grad experience and have been promoted twice to a senior level.
4)As i get more experience I beleive I should increase in salary as well. I think that honestly $65-$70k is what i deserve.
5) No clearence as of yet.
6)Location is Washington, DC.
Once again thanks, and there is no harm in negotiating, so I'm going to try by best ... lets see what happens.
