I really think 889djj must be working for another booz allen. Our interpretations of reality are very different:
1. Booz/wcb was only hurting between 2001-2002, and recovered nicely in 2003-present. But ALL strategy firms hurt at this time! That's why it's nice to be well diversified (TB and CB are not highly correlated, usually), especially as a private partnerhsip. And it's so funny to hear firms like bcg claim they had no lay offs -- yeah, they just outted 30% more people than usual! It's all semantics.
2. CB had not been flat for a decade!!! Absurd -- it was shooting through the roof until 2001!
3. WCB has been significantly ABOVE plan the last couple years. I apologize to 889djj if his bonuses have not reflect this fact, but my certainly have (unless everyone's lying to me and wants to just give me money). |

Yeah, maybe you're right. What do I know. I've only been with BAH for over a decade.
1. Revenue declined for six years ("better part of a decade") before a recovery the past two years. The increase in the past few years has been pretty good but net revenue growth is still well below WTB levels. (You have read CM's latest letter I assume. It is the source of all of the data quoted above.)
2. See above.
3. WCB has not been "significantly above" plan the past two years. Sorry. That's a simple fact.
I'm really glad your bonuses are doing well. Mine have been doing extremely well, but that is driven entirely by WTB. (Yes, I'm a Partner in the commercial business.)
Bottom line is that WCB still needs to double or triple its performance to catch up with its potential. Good news is that it is on the right track and with the right focus -- and continued support from WTB -- it will get there.
